Cheaters (A’s OF Laureano Suspended)

The epicenter of steroids in baseball produced yet another cheater last week. For the second straight year an Oakland Athletics player tested positive for a banned substance. @athletics OF Ramon Laureano was suspended by @mlb for 80 games when the 27 year-old Laureano tested hot for anabolic steroids.

I feel bad for the A’s fans & Laureano. The fans have to worry about their team relocating & A’s ownership doesn’t give a shit about keeping a winner on the field. Now one of the team’s key players is lost in the middle of a pennant race but not do to injury or trade. No, no, it was for freaking steroids.

Ramon Laureano is a hard-nosed player who brings it every game. His style of play lends itself to injury. Laureano plays the way we want our major leaguers to play. His 2021 season will end with Laureano sitting on 14 jacks, 39 RBIs, 12 steals, .246 avg., .317 OBP., & a 2.4 War.

Personally I feel steroids should be legal for athletes in non contact sports. It would extend the longevity of our favorite player’s careers. Steroids or HGH would also help with injury & recovery. Use them under a doctor’s care & what’s the issue?

Instead, Ramon Laureano will serve his suspension from MLB testing positive for the banned substance nandrolone. Laureano will have to carry the cheater label upon his return in 2022 and it won’t matter if he took the banned substance by mistake or on purpose to gain an advantage. Hopefully, when Ramon Laureano does return he will be the same type of intense, productive player he has been so far in his career. Meanwhile the A’s lose a productive member of their lineup just before the dog days of summer are about to heat up and once again the Oakland A’s fans are the victims.
